Poppies, poorly tummies and pieces of cake!

Hi everyone, I really hope you've had a good week? Mine has been a bit of a mixed bag. The week started off very optimistically, after all it's never the best feeling going back into work after having a nice relaxing week at home is it? I had rejoiced the evening before by baking a rather successful, in my humble opinion, ginger cake. Okay, not quite as delicious as the one I remember my Nan making as a kid, but nevertheless it was a worthy contender for one of my best bakes. My husband, who is always a honest critic of my baking, gave it both thumbs up. It went down a storm with the children too although it has been noted that a dollop of custard wouldn't go amiss next time. Before the gannets attacked! Welcome Autumn

I've been meaning to start a blog for quite some time, I'm not sure what made me finally decide to go for it, but here I am. I'm hoping to fill the space with things I've created including the inspiration and process behind them. I consider myself a creative individual and really love it when I stumble upon new things to try out. Sometimes it can go well but I've also had my fair share of epic fails too. I'm also hoping to write about how I keep myself happy, mental health is a really important subject to me. Being creative has been at the forefront of this and I'm lucky enough to be able to promote this in my work with children and young people. I love the outdoors, being surrounded by natural beauty and often use the excuse of walking Daisy, my French Bulldog, to get out in the fresh air. I'm often nagging at my two teenage children to get outdoors more but the lure of the computer screen is far to compelling for them. This is something I really wa...
