Dressmaking Therapy

Dressmaking and indeed most types of sewing I consider a type of therapy. The transformation of a piece of flat fabric into something wearable is something I will never tire of. If you had asked me several years ago that I would be able to create and incredibly, wear something I had made myself I would have laughed at you. Dressmaking and being able to make my own clothes was something on my long list of things that I would one day achieve. It was my mum who happened to find a retro 1970s sewing machine in a charity shop that got me started in this brilliant world of sewing. At the time I was in my first year of university, so I didn't get too caught up in it at the start. It wasn't until 2014 when I finally handed in my last ever assignment that I was able to really pursue this new hobby.
